tc55da or tn60a?

The New Holland specs are somewhat deceiving. You have to look closely at the distance the capacity is measured from the pivot.

The TC (18LA) has 1830lb lift capacity @ full height and breakout force is 3114lb both are measured approx 20" forward of the pivot point.

The TC's (32LC) has 2600lb lift capacity @ full height and breakout force is 3900lb both are measured at 31.5" forward of the pivot point.

If you compaired the TN at the same 20" as the TC its capacities would be even greater.

Both are good choices... for round bales go with the TN. Anything else you'll probably be OK with the TC.

I presently have a TN75D and a 2120 (which is the same as a TC48 or 55 just less hp) I've had the 2120 since 1987 and it has been a great tractor. Do not confuse the TC45 with either a 2120, TC48/55. The TC45 is a much smaller frame. The TC48/55 feel much more like full size tractors. The TN is a considerable step up from the TC55 and for haying you 'll really appreciate the weight. Also the TN loader is first rate and will easily lift the rear end of the TN off the ground with Rim Guard loaded 16.9 x30's. I need to carry substancial 3pt hitch weight on my TN to use the full capacity of the loader. I think the heavies thing I have actually carried(pushed) with the TN is one end of a 40 foot 8800# contaianer about 1 foot off the ground. Try that with a TC55. The TC55/2120 chassis is definately more manuverable, but the TN gets around very well itself. I use a Woods 1050 backhoe on the TN75 and it works great.

Good luck in your choice.

I stand corrected, thanks. I do love the TC48 now that I have some seat time, but if I was doing some serious farming, or baleing the TN would have been my choice. That front end is possibly unbreakable, unless dropped from 30 feet.

The Miller company you refer to do they actually make the loaders for NH or just replacement/aftermarket loaders. I liked the Grease-less idea and wondered if this is an option on the NH loaders now?

Sure would like to go that way. I can not keep the fittings from clogging up and must disassemble them to clear them a big PITA

( Simple solution. Grease often enough so the zerks don't plug up. Guaranteed to cure the problem. )

You know that works most of the time but the fittings that are in the dirt almost continuously it seems even an every hour greasing is not always enough. Maybe its the clay around here I have tried about 4 or 5 different types of grease with no real difference

The TC55 is not an agricultural tractor, if you are going to use your tractor for baling and pulling wagons full of hay, buy the TN. The TC has the horsepower but does not have the mass to keep control of a wagon full of hay esspecially on hills.
