TC55DA won't crank

I have used my TC55DA tractor several times recently with no problems, but now it won't crank. The lights light up but it won't spin. We used a jumper at starter relay & it would crank but not start. Then we used the jumper at the safety controller & it cranks but not start. I would guess whatever is causing the no crank is shutting off fuel & power to starter. Now, I could use some advise. I don't know what controls the wiring into the safety controller or what other switch would cause this problem. I would greatly appreciate any help ya'll could offer. Thanks

First i would check the pto lever make sure it is disingaged i had that happen once . The next thing would be the seat saftey switch and the pto saftey switch . The neutral switch on the shuttle could cause it not to start. Make shure they are all pluged in at the switch . The negative cable to the battery is also a good place to look as they can carode inside of the sheathing or loose ground where attached. Clean the battery post and check the battery for a dead short. These are a few places to look.

I believe you have an electrically controlled fuel shut off valve. Make sure the wire to the fuel shut off valve is connected and has voltage when you try to start.

Plotts, if your engine won't crank over, then it is the PTO switch or the Neutral Switch (maybe the shuttle switch if you have one). The seat switch will allow the engine to turn over, but it keeps the fuel shut off so the engine won't run or start. Since you jumpered to the starter and the engine turns over, your problem is not dirty battery terminals. When you jumpered the operator safety module, were you sitting in the seat when you attempted to start the tractor? Did you have the parking brake on? If you were out of the seat and did not have the parking brake on, then the fuel will stay cut off. You have to sit in the seat or set the parking brake.

I would find the neutral switch and jumper across it and try to start. Next, I'd do the same thing with the PTO. However, if the PTO switch is malfunctioning, you should have the instrument panel PTO indicator on when the PTO is disengaged. That's an easy check of the PTO switch.

Finally, I'd make sure all fuses are good. I don't know the specifics of your fuse circuits, but I would check everyone of them with a continuity tester to make sure a fuse for the control circuits is not blown. If my TC45D had the exact symptoms you are seeing, it would be fuse #2, but I can't be sure what fuse would cause a similar problem on the TC55DA. Check them all.

The only thing I can think of, my T2420 had a similar problem turned out to be faulty seat switch I replaced it with a new one, but bypass it for a while however after almost running myself over, while getting off the tractor in gear and hitting the forward shuttle lever I quickly replaced it and realize how important these devices are and how easy it is to get hurt when you're in a rush and you get complacent with your equipment even after all the years of using tractors it happens ;-) take care
