Does anyone have any input/info/advice on the new TDD series by New Holland? I know they are a relatively basic utility tractor, lacking a lot of electronic "bells and whistles".

Tazewell,
You are basically right. The TD series is a lean and mean no frills get the job done tractor with plenty of power. The TD95 with deluxe cab lists out just over 33,000 where the TN75 with cab lists out at $44,000!

NH has gotten back to basics in their linup with the new offerings of the TT and TD series tractors. They certainly dont have all the space shuttle buttons and knobs and tilt wheel and cruise control and microwave and toaster ovens and so on that the TN and TS series have...you get my point. :) But for the average user, are all those things really necessary? Most people just want to know where to put the key, the fuel, and how do I start the PTO and raise the 3 point. All the other stuff is generally "fluff".

To be competitive in the market NH realized it had to produce a tractor that was appealing in both power, price, and options and boy they did a great job! The TD95 with cab is actually quite nice for a stripped down tractor and it packs a punch at 95 HP! A well rounded, stout and straight up farm tractor. We just got one in the dealership yesterday. I will take detailed pictures and post them here for you to see and you can judge for yourself.

Let me know if I can get you anymore information.

Thanks,
Larry

As Larry said, the TDD is a great basic tractor. My dealer has a couple on the lot and they are very nice. The cab appears to be built very strong but it doesn't look as streamlined as the rest of the NH cab tractors it is very roomy and functional with great access into the cab from both sides.

Larry, a bunch of us TBN guys from WNY are having a get-together/breakfast soon. Right now we are looking at roughly 10am March 3rd. I don't know if you have to work or not but you could tell your boss it is a business trip and who knows, maybe Frank will trade in his little Kubota for a larger New Holland. Its a win/win situation for all :) Anyway, the thread is in the meetings and get-together's fourm http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1077669#post1077669

Have fun.

Larry, can a backhoe be added to these TD’s?

And yes, please pictures.

The TDD will accept a 3pt backhoe. I am curious why you would question if it could?

Group,
Ask and you shall receive! :)

Here are some nice pictures of the TD95 Cab tractor that we just got in.
Its better then I anticipated. I will mention that NH is already planning some changes to this tractor. (yeah, I know..always changing something). Thats a good thing though. I've never seen them make something worse than the initial offering. :)
Some of the changes coming up for this tractor are a better suspension seat, re-location of the throttle lever, maybe to the dash? And the operating pedals are going to be suspended.

Just some things I noticed looking it over:
1. The dash is metal, not plastic.
2. The "trim" in the cab is pretty basic.
3. It DOES have tilt wheel which I thought was nice.
4. Its readio ready with speakers already installed.
5. The controls and levers are easy to reach and understand.
6 The external lighting is basic but suffecient.
7. It does have rear view mirrors.
8. The rear window opens out.
9. Standard single rear remote valve.
10. Offset outboard planetary rear axle.
11. Heavy duty front axle.
12. Arm rests on the seat.
13. Easy fill fuel tank by door entry
14. Cup holder! :)
15. Gas strut assist one piece flip up hood
16. Front mounted battery
17. Flex link ends.
18. Adjustable rims
19. Cloth head liner
20. Hand and foot throttle

Overall very nice for the price. It started and ran smooth. Sound level wasn't too loud in the cab with the doors closed but you could tell the dash area was not plastic and carried the engine noise a little. Nothing to write home about. I think NH hit a home run with this tractor and I am impressed with it. Lots of power for ground engaging tools and round balers and discbines and a nice comfortable cab with air conditioning and heat. She's ready for work!
Who wants it? I'm taking orders through the end of the week! :)

Regards,
Larry

Hi Larry, I am glad NH is going to clean this machine up some but it is good as is right now also. I was surprised to see the metal dash on the one I was in. It is solid but I think they should have wrapped it with a soft fabric like on the 7710-II. The only thing on the TDD that I really thinks looks goofy is the rear cab lights. They look like an afterthought that was thrown together last second.

Have to agree with you on the lights. It struck me as strange and something that the customer would want an explanation for. hahaha... :)

Thanks for taking those pictures Larry, and posting them. I like the no frills tractors the best, and read on the NH company page it has a mechanical PTO, which I like about my TC48. Was looking to find if the 4WD is also a mechanical engage/disengage. I like that also about my TC48. Too many electricals, just more to go wrong in the future.
