Hello!

I have a Tecumseh HSSK50-67272L engine that needs a new governor spring. What I'm running up against is that there are three springs for different applications and only one is available. I've ordered this one and it doesn't work for my needs. The spring I have is 31426. If you look at the parts illustrations, the springs are listed as #19, 19A and 19B. 19 is the one I have but the other two show as unavailable. If someone has a physical parts book for this engine, they may have the numbers I need listed. Any help would be appreciated!

It looks like the only difference is the length of the spring. Why can't you just cut it or stretch it to fit? That may be why they only stock one spring. That spring may only be there to take up the slack in the governor rod as it wears.

That reminds me, I have a cast iron 10-horse I want to restore.

Hi!

Thanks for your reply. Yeah, I know I can do that, but when I tried it with a used spring, it made no difference. Hoping someone had an actual parts book for the HSSK series so I could see the other two springs.

31426 is the spring listed for your application on the dealer side of things. If you for some reason are looking for something different, then try alternate spec numbers. Though I can't think why.

Thanks for your reply. I finally found a solution with the spring I have. I stretched the spring slightly and it worked perfectly! I appreciate the responses.
