Kubota 2620 TLB
Got myself a 2620 this past April/May and I'm racking up the hours on it around the house.

I'm looking into using it for snow removal to supplement my Honda 1132 blower, takes 3+ hrs to use.

I'm looking into getting a QA from a 2920 (forget who had one put on in the forum) and possibly the forks as well. Also considering finding an old plow and fabbing something to go with the QA.

Thoughts? Ideas?

The front blower is great but expensive. The Kubota blade is sweet also. I wish I had one for the heavy, wet stuff. Did you rule both of these out? The quick hitch works with both the blade and the blower and can be removed very easily to switch back to FEL.

I think the QA that the OP is talking about is the one that goes on the loader arms. Perhaps I was the one you remember as having one. The QA is from a B3200 since the new loader is dimensionally the same as the one on your B2620. It is a "pin on" type, and not a skid steer type, so it isn't universal, and you probably would have to get a snow blade modified to fit it. Kubota has forks, and other buckets that do fit, but that is about it I think. Though technically it reduces the amount you can lift, I have seen no difference in practical use. Actually I have been able to easily lift odd shaped loads with my forks that I couldn't lift before I added the QA, and the forks. (tree stumps, etc.) Here are a couple of pictures that will show you what it would look like on your tractor.

Yes, that's the unit.

Easy enough to swap out to forks, etc? Also assuming the bucket stays the same, just extra pins in the top?

I've already met a couple of rocks that the loader didn't like too much, I could curl but not lift.

I know there's some weight involved, but any real difference in usage or putting the bucket out a little further?

I already know about having to modify a blade to fit, but compared to buying a QA for a plow on the front or blower, I'd think this is the lowest buck solution, as well as gaining some forks, no?

How much did the setup and forks run? Part No's?

The original installation has two pins securing the bucket, and the QA uses the same number, and locations. As you can see in the pictures, the top of the QA is just a "U" shaped bracket. It is very easy to drive up to the forks, etc. with the QA tipped ahead, drive under the top pin lift a little, and curl back to install the implement. The bottom pin, one, or the other on mine usually needs a bit of encouragement to remove / replace so I carry a hammer, and punch when changing things around, but it doesn't take much effort. I expect that will get easier as the paint wears, and it gets used more. All the pins, etc. that you need for the QA come with the QA. You just have to remember to get the ones with the grease fittings installed in the parts that pivot! I paid $279 (B1658) for the QA, and around $982 (B1659) for the forks. The forks seemed expensive at the time, but I sure like them. They are an ideal size for this tractor. I've used mine on brush, moving fallen trees, and sections of them off my woods trails, for moving odd shaped loads like stumps, for lifting things with chains, for digging rocks, etc., and I've even used them to move a couple of pallets. They work very well for digging out rocks since you can leverage using the curl with the back of the forks supported, and by driving ahead at the same time. With them set close enough together they are better than the bucket for moving, and placing rocks where you want them. Once in a while I have difficulty getting the rocks to slide back against the backstop, but usually they do. I'll go take a couple of pictures of some of the latest work I've done with them. None of the things pictured are huge by any stretch, but they are what I've run into, and handled with no effort recently. The water bottle is 10" high, and 3" in diameter for perspective. I can still manage to lift the rear, loaded tires, and have done that even with my chipper on though I don't think I've done it with my Woods BB attached yet. One thing for sure around here one will always find something larger than any CUT will handle without looking too far. :D :D

I like the price of the QA, just not the forks!

I'm spoiled because I've got the BH and thumb, but still have the same amount of rocks and trees as you to deal with. I'm cleaning out the edge of my property, all pines 80' and weedy maples and beeches. I'm pulling the small stuff out, but working on what to do with the pine.

I do use my bucket to bring out the garbage cans when they're really full. I've got a long driveway, so it's better than dragging all 4 out. Wife looks at me when I do it though. :p

We're going to eventually do pavers and a concrete interlocking retaining wall, so I'm thinking the forks might be nice. I've been moving the stones throughout and I think a wall or something is going to happen with them, I just hate getting the ones as big as a V8 and tranny to attempt to move.

I've still got a while before I can do it, still looking for a job after 4 weeks. So who needs an alarm or monitoring here?:D

That is a very nice QA system Kubota came up with... I wonder if it backwards compatible with the LA-402 loader??

My particular QA is not backwards compatible with the LA-402, but Kubota does have the same type of QA for that loader. The loader arms on your loader are further apart than the new ones, and I think that is where the difference is. Though it is not perfect, it is very light, and doesn't use up much loader capacity. I was delighted when the B3200 came out, and I realized that the loader frames / arms were the same as the ones on my tractor.

I think I looked at the QA system at the time I bought my tractor. I don't remember it being as easy to hook up or as clean an install as that new one, but I could be wrong. It has happened before... LOL
I'll have to look into it again..
Thanks Chuck.

Bumping, does the QA really move the pivot points that far forward on the 564 loader? I'm still playing with options.

Any real loss in lifting?
