Tell me, what do you like in a wallet. Of course a dumb question, money

I used to get fancy leather wallets for Christmas, just shoved them into a drawer. As I got older, more and more I would forget to take my wallet out of my jeans before throwing them into the washer. They tended to disintegrate. Now my wallet drawer is empty. I have a spare that survived a washing cycle because I realized it part way thru the washer fill cycle. Medicaid card is the usual casualty.

As far as contents is concerned, $10s and $20s are my favorites.

Hardly ever carry it anymore.
Really not much use for it after going cashless or now almost cardless.
We use the phone for most everything now.

Was reading where some states are actually researching drivers license as digital data.
No more cards!!

Ever since I lived in France 20+ years ago I have carried my wallet in my front pocket. Gone are the trifolds and other thick wallets. I went to a money clip for holding cards and money but the cash and cards got so beat up. I now use the Carlos Chavez thin leather wallet which is a fairly standard bifold but no pocket for the cash - just a clip inside - and a see through pocket for the Driver's license and four card slots. About two years ago I upgraded to the metal mesh layered one for RFID security.

I have just ordered a front pocket wallet to try (totally against my nature). It will force me to reduce the filing cabinet for sure and might even help my back. I guess time will tell.

I bought a tri-fold wallet at a flea market stand for $3 a couple of years ago. Still holding up well and can't complain about the price. But I really dislike how it folds the money -- two creases instead of one. Makes it harder to handle and clerks always seem to have to fuss with it. Next time I would go with the traditional one fold style but until them I have nothing to complain about.
