I don't think the temp. has broken 60 degrees yet when I have been using my new B7500, but I think my temp gage reading is low. It just climbs above the C mark. Is this normal or is it running cold?
Thanks,
Dave

That's about where mine runs. If I remember right it's about 1/8 of an inch above C no matter what I'm doing. Of course I have yet to use it in reall hot weather yet so we'll see. I did manage to run it up to just under red once. Seems that when mowing a new lawn with lots of hay you have to keep an eye that the front grill doesn't become clogged. I'm sure glad I noticed it before it quit!

Sounds about right. I have yet to see my B2400 gage get much more than 1/4" above the to of the C. Even mowing when it's 90+ degrees out.

The temperature gauge on my F2400 has a break in the line at about 1/4 scale and that is where the needle sits when the engine is warmed up. After your engine is warmed up put your hand on the outlet hose from the engine to the radiator. If it is between warm and hot the thermostat is working properly. If it is not fairly warm your themostat is not working.

I agree with the previous posts - even in 90 degree weather in the summer in South Carolina, my temp gauge (L3410) is just at the first marker above "C". Jeff is right on about the screen over the radiator. I was brushing clearing through some cat tails and noticed my temp gauge was almost on "H" - stopped the tractor and feared the worst, for about a minute, until I pulled off the engine cover over the radiator and found the grill totally clogged with the cat tail debris. Learned a lesson there.

Same for my B7300, Until the radiator screen started getting full. Then you'll see it climb.

The sensor on my engine is at the opposite end of the engine from the thermostat. (Thermostat is front - sensor is at rear of engine). I think this set up give you some advance notice as to climbing temp or increased load.

Yours sounds normal to me.

Thanks all. Sounds like everything is normal. Next time I'm going to check radiator hose just to be certain.
