Anybody replaced or added a temp ga to there TC 35 or bigger ? Deluxe or standard model. I'm told it is a no-no? how can that be, it must warrant some discussion. Thanks, Lloyd

I noticed on a NH TC 30 that the picture in their catalog
doesn't show the tractor having a temperature gauge. But
yesterday I stopped at a dealer and the tractor they had
did have a temperature gauge.

I'm wondering if the temp gauge on the TC 30 is a option or
did NH at a later date after printing the catalog decide to add
a gauge???

Would be nice if tractor companies offered a full instrument
package as a option or better yet made them standard...

I really can't imagine not having a coolant temp gauge. Something as simple as mowing a field can lead to needing to watch your engine temp closely...

If you don't have one - put one on. There are many aftermarket options available at any good auto parts store. Most all will operate completely seperate from any other system on the tractor, and should not cause any problems.

Are you talking about a transmission temperature guage? My TC45D has an engine temperature gauge from the factory.

I have thought about adding a trans temp guage but there is nowhere convenient to mount it.

All Class III "Deluxe" model tractors have a temperature gage, but no oil pressure gage. My old Ford Jubilee has an oil pressure gage and I sure miss it on my Boomer. I always watch the "idiot light" everytime I start my tractor to see that it is ON and then goes OFF. It may not be much, but at least it's some assurance that there is oil pressure. If it doesn't come on before I start the engine, I'll be replacing the bulb.

Hey Jimmer: you would think that the new stuff would have at least temp and oil press ga. Almost every older tractor did and you are right at least you knew what has going on when you sat on there and started it up !! lots of them had amp too, hard to believe that you spend 20k and dont get any gauges. oh well- Lloyd

If you add temp gauge, what would be a normal operating temp. reading ?

170°F to 190°F is normal range with a 180°F Thermostat.

Lloyd,

Did your tractor not come with one? Or are you looking for one that has numbers on it vs. the red & green zones?

My TC18 came with the unnumbered one. Only a hair more usefull than an idiot light.
