I have a fenced in pen for my dogs to go out, and they like to hang out there for periods of time. I want to enclose the deck part of the pen (it already has a roof on it) to just protect them from the wind, as a couple of them enjoy laying on the deck even in the cold weather. I just want to put clear plastic up, that I'll take down in the spring. I was going to se that corregated clear plastic (I think it's called Pell Roofing), but it seems to only come in 2 foot wide sheets, and I want to se 4 foot wide sheets. Is there any kind of rigid clear plastic that comes in 4 x 8 sheets?

Thanks!!

You could make frames out of 2" X 2" wood and staple plastic film on them. I have done that in the past.
A lot cheaper than plastic sheet. The last 1/8 X 4' X 8' piece I bought was about $50.
HD- $98. OUCH!!

I'm thinking of doing something similar. There are some clear 20 mil tarps for sale on eBay in quite a few sizes (1 even at 10' x 20').

I use a clear + reinforcement gridded tarp in my barn alley to divide a torpedo heated zone from an unheated zone. I just hang it from the ceiling joists. You can just walk around the sides to get to the rest of the barn. 3 of my 4 dogs have figured this out.

Thanks, Dave, I checked the Home Depot website and those sheets are almost $100 each, and I would need 12 of them. I don't want to spend that much to give my dogs a draft free place to lay down for about 1/2 hour a few times during the day, so I got some heavy duty tarps from TSC and screwed them up around the deck. They're not clear, but I'm leaving a door way open that the dogs can look out, so I got it done for less than $100.

Don't blame you. That would add up to too much. I wondered how well the 4x8 sheets would stand a strong wind gust too. It seems like the wind would be always working them back and forth which might create fatigue cracks. I think it would need intermediate supports.

Dogs have excellent night vision. :D

If you go to an Awning fabricator they will have clear plastic as used for tent windows and awnings. Generally available in 2-3 thicknesses and fairly affordable. Nice thing is that U can staple it in place or onto a frame.
I used the heavier gauge for my tractor side windows.(about 12 years and still great)
