temporarily lost drive

I am enjoying my new found freedom from the plow guy. I just cleared the second 12+ inch snowfall.
While doing so I lost drive, the tractor was running, I checked everything and all looked ok. I was getting a tow cable and the 4x4 started up the pull itout of the way when I decided to try it once more. It was still idling fine and I just depressed the pedal and off she went. It did this once more soe 20 minutes later .

Any idea's ? It was 6 degree's out .

Good morning,
Any chance the Hi/Lo slipped out of gear.
There was a recall on the 5252 for this, not sure about the 5234's

I know I've mentioned this in previous post and I hope that this is not the case with your tractor, however, according to my dealer the ring and pinion were a common problem with the 5000 series. It may be that yours is starting to go out and will catch periodically. This may be a possibility, hopefully its something much less serious though. I do not remember seeing recall info when I had my 5234D for the shifting...but that doesn't mean there wasn't one for that model. Please keep us informed, hope you get it figured out.

Hope you get it figured out. I am a sencond owner of a cub 5252 05' can I go back to a dealer to get it replaced? Does it have to fail first? I suppose not, that is the point of a recall.

I believe this recall was to correct a problem where the tractor would slip out of gear on a hill and start freewheeling. That would be bad news on a hilly property.
