Temporary base for overhead door

Putting up pole barn for tractor and stuff, floor will be gravel for quite awhile before I can afford to put down concrete. I'm installing overhead doors and trying to figure out what to put at the base so they are 4" off the height of the gravel so when I do put in the concrete the doors will be at the correct height. I've been thinking about putting down a 4x4 at the right height, then grade gravel up to it on the inside and outside so it's easy to drive over. When I do the concrete I'll pull out the 4x4 and grade the gravel flat again. Any better ideas or suggestions? tnx

I have a 36x63 pole barn. One end slider and one slider on the long side. We only put concrete down on half the floor for cost reasons. For the long wall slider we poured a concrete berm or curb about 8 inches wide at the height we needed. Then just graveled up to it on each side. It really isn't that much concrete and could easily be done with quickcrete. You can make it as durable or as cheap as you want to. Being temporary we just put a little reinforcement in it. Glad I did put some steel in it. That temporary curb has been there for four years and might need to last another four.
