Purchased a tent type shed to house my tractor. The poor girl has been sitting outside for the last four years since I moved here. The shed is 12 wide X 24 long X 10 feet high. My issue is how do those of you that have them unzip and zip the opening? I thought of adding a rope to the zipper to help close them, but am concerned about the rope freezing to the ground. I have also thought about a stick with some type of hook to open and close it.

Any thoughts, I currently am keeping a ladder nearby to do the job.

Hope the one you have has a steep sloped roof to shed snow load! I had one several years ago, wet spring snow took it down, fortunately, there wasn't anything in it at the time. ~~ grnspot

How about a plastic tomato stick with a hook screwed into the end?
I don't know if you've thought about it, but you also might want to keep some spray windshield de-icer, such as the Prestone spray, to help with a frozen zipper after a cold rain.

have you put it together and know you cant reach the top? I think mines 10' at the peak but the zippers are at the edges.
I slid a piece of plastic pipe in the slot on the flap and that made it easier to roll up.
You may want to keep a small stepstool in the tent because your bungee flap holder is at the top too.

Yes I got it together yesterday and I can not reach the top. The zipper goes all the way to the top. It is the round top model and they are pretty popular around here. The snow tends to slide right off. We did have one of those cheap metal tent type gazebos that we lost last year when I forgot to take the top off.

We normally do not get the freezing rain, pretty rare. Normally just rain or snow; but good point about the zipper freezing. I have three zippers one on each side and one in the center.

I think I will try the stick some kind of hook on it, I probably have something lying around so the cost would be zero.
