\"terra-turf\" tires for 3520
Expecting delivery of 3520 with R4's any day now.
Initially, the R4's will be used in reclaiming some land by tilling.
So, they're pretty good for not getting me stuck in all of the muck.
After the grass comes up, it'll be time to mow with the MMM...hmm,
R4's on grass with this heavy (to me) beast aren't the best solution.
Naturally, R3's come to mind. But, when you get 6-8" of wet
snow, the R3's like to spin whereas the R4's pull you through/out.
But the R3's are better on ice.
Okay - to the point: When I bought my first tractor, an 18HP Yanmar,
it came with what I think were called terra-turf tires. They look
like R3's but have a "cleat" that zig-zags across the top from
one side to the other. And they're spaced 6" or so apart - this might
be inaccurate as I'm working from memory which has gotten
worst over the years (in spite of what I may say). And the cleat
was maybe 1/2" - 1" tall and about 1/2" or so thick.
These were easy on the turf (just like R3's), but were great when
you got bogged down in slush/mud/etc.
Does anyone have any idea of who's making anything close
to what I described? I've googled/searched off-and-on, but
haven't found "jack" (or any member of his family).
Appreciate the help.
