- International 1066 Full sized JCB Loader/Backhoe and a John Deere 430 to mow with
We've been looking around to get a tractor and 15' cutter.
Found an IH 1066 (no cab) locally in nice condition.
Then, found a Terrain King hydraulic mower (parent company Alamo)
The mower is currently attached to a John Deere.
My understanding is, there is a "speed multiplier" or something similar that will mount to the PTO and this will multiply the revolutions by 4x to the mowers pump.
There is a mounting plate that is mounted to the current tractor. I'm going to presume the holes won't match on the IH.
(for the record, I've not actually bought either one yet but I intend to this weekend, so I have time to back out if need be)
How difficult will the mounting plate be to match to the IH?
Where can I get some measurements so we'll know where to drill the holes?
They said I could purchase a "universal plate" and cut the holes wherever I went.....but he (Help desk at Alamo) also said I could probably just use the existing plate and drill four new holes.
Went on to say the multiplier can be rotated 90 degrees if needed, to get it out of the way of the 1,000 PTO shaft and/or, an extender could maybe be used.
Ultimately, since I don't have either one physically in my hands right now....I'm wondering how would this plate be mounted? Does the IH already have some threaded holes by the PTO?
He said some folks also mount the multiplier to their 3-point system and use an extender.
I've not seen any instructions yet and don't expect to.
I don't have the means to be a machine shop.... so if I take it somewhere, they'd need the exact dimensions though I'm wondering if I could get it close enough by hand.
So, how would you mount this plate?
