I have a 2003 Terramite TC5. I'm on 2 acres of very hard reasonably level ground in Tucson AZ. I'd like to find a towable soil mover like one I saw on Ebay but it was in NY.

Box blade 12 feet soil mover scraper leveler landscape. Ebay Item number: 160186436787

Any Ideas. It was 12' wide. Just right. I have the cleared roads, just would like to level them nicely and then put about an 8" abc fill and compact over with a crown.

I'm new at this but I have a lot more time than money so hiring it out is out of the question.

Thanks, Cannon Ball

Might get some responses if this was in the Construction Equipment forum? I'm not quite sure what a TC5 is but if it can pull a 12' box blade I AM NOT standing in front of it!! maybe a mod can move it for you?

Thanks, TC5 is a US made compact tractor. 20HP gas in this version. :)

The TC5 is a compact utility loader backhoe. I understand your question because it would be nice to be able to do what you want to do with the TC5.

It would take some imagination to attach or pull any type of box blade with it since the backhoe is attached to it. There is no 3 pt hitch, and no drawbar. The 20 hp gas engine is a limitation, also.

There was a recent post where someone attached a snowplow blade to his loader bucket for moving snow. There is also a front mount grader blade for skid loaders that has wheels in front of the blade.

But there have been posts about tearing up loader arms by trying to use them like a bulldozer. So while I can think that it would be possible to put wheels on the front of a 5' boxblade and push it with the loader, I wonder if it would damage your machine.

It would be nice if there was a terramite discussion forum here. I suggest you'd get more responses if you posted your question in the build it yourself forums because it would take some creativity to build something that might work for you.

Happy New Year.

Wow those TC5's must be alot stronger than I thought to be able to pull something this size. That thing looks like it would need a good sized farm tractor to pull it.

I think DR makes a smaller version of this thing. Same people who make the DR field and brush mower. Here is a link for one made for a smaller tractor but bigger than the DR

Hoelscher Commercial Products - DB Scraper

Good luck

I don't mean to mislead anyone. I have reservations whether any 20 HP tractor could suitably pull the earth moving scraper that Andy just posted. I think I read the minimum HP requirement is 35 HP?

What might be possible is to fabricate some kind of device to crown a road with the T5C, but it would take some imagination because the T5C doesn't have a 3 point hitch. It has a backhoe mounted to the rear that is supposed to stay on the machine.

I'm sorry if I have given anyone the wrong impression about this.

Thanks for the reply.

I was thinking of adding a removable draw bar or even a 3 point hitch.

I can make a lot of passes leveling a little at a time. I'm not in a hurry but it would be nice to cover a 12' swath.

20 hp would seem adequate if one just took it real easy and slow.

I originally posted in compact tractors and someone suggested I move it to equipment forum but I think you are right. I'll move it over to BIY after I figure/remember out how.

New at this.

I wonder how one would start a Terramite forum? Only US made compact tractor owned and built completely here in the good ole U.S. of A. as I understand it. One reason I purchased it over the others available.

It does what it does really well, so far. I致e had it a few months now.

As far as size complaints (driver roominess) I've seen from others, I'm 6'2" and 275#'s. Not a small guy and I fit just fine. Not a lot of extra room but still comfortable. Its really easy to get in and out of as a loader. Slightly harder as a backhoe but I wear a size 12 shoe and they fit as well as I would want in the backhoe seating position.

Thanks for the info. I'll look at it. I was thinking that I would just make a lot of light passes and take it easy.

No hurry, plenty of time. Just need to use what I have available to use for power whatever I use to level.

Thanks again for the reply. Backhoe would stay but can envision a removable 3 point or draw bar.

I don't think that you would be able to use that box blade. The terramite weigh is about 3000 lbs. I think that you would run out of traction. Where would you put the drawbar? On mine there is a lot of stuff on the rear of the tractor (backhoe outriggers and such).
I have a 2002 terramite and would like to see a forum for them. I am in the process of changing the hyd oil and did not see the drain plug on bottom of tank even though I am sure it is there.
Am looking forward to seeing your setup when it is complete
