Testing newly installed 3rd function on Kubota BX without an impliment?

I installed a Land Pride 3rd function kit on my BX2350. Since I do not have a 3rd function implement, I am a little unsure if i did this right as a tractor noob.

If I push in the needles of the hose fittings, and push the buttons on the 3rd function they will shoot fluid out. I thought id get smart and hook up the bucket curl to the 3rd function to test it. The result was; when I pushed one button, the bucket would very slowly curl. When I pushed the other button nothing would happen. Either my test is flawed because i dont know enough how the system is supposed to work or I installed the 3rd function wrong.

The 3rd function was plumbed to the power beyond port at the rear of the tractor, not the pump port. The instructions for the BX 60 and 70 series stated to plumb it into the Pump port, which i thought was strange.

Is there any sure way to check my work without going out and buying a grapple?

I would invest in a gauge and use an extra set of QD connectors...way less then the cost of a grapple...

yes i had hoses made to operate the bucket curl from the 3rd function, I could get a gauge. What im learning is it looks like ive hooked the 3rd function up wrong, it should have been plumbed to the pump port not the power beyond port.

In an effort to check my work I only created more confusion. The hose ends were “just barely wrong”. Not enough fluid was being allowed to move. I have the correct hoses on now to test with and the bucket functions perfectly with the 3rd function.
