Does anyone know how to actually test the "INTAKE MANIFOLD HEATER TIMER FOR 4035 MAHINDRA TRACTOR"? And, I need to test the actual intake manifold heater also. Just seems to have stopped working.

Insights, help appreciated, it is of course out of warranty. First real issue I have had to deal with on this tractor.

It should have power when the ignition switch is on. First verify it’s getting switched on with the ignition- Left side of picture. Then verify the big wire has power too- that is probably hot all the time- the relay just switches that to send power to the heater as needed.
I probably did a terrible job explaining that.....good luck

For the amperage that is switched a relay is incorporated.
With the engine off cycling the heat will result in a audible click or clack.
You should also be able to actually feel that clack with your finger tips touching the relay/module.

Temporary connection to the glow plugs (or manifold heater) will also result in enough heat for you to feel as you tough each plug(or heater).

(While automation is nice to have, a simple high amp switch manually timed and operated can be used to replace costly modules.)

Thanks, I have listened for the click to no avail and the light on the dash does not come on. I will check the intake hear to see if there is any change. I may run a bypass to see if the intake heater will come on manually.

Does the relay have power? With no dash light are you sure you don’t have a bad fuse?

That is a good idea!
If it proves OK and you determine the relay is the culprit you could always bypass and wire a manual switch with you becoming the timer, like count off seconds.

Also U could manually power the timer direct from the battery as a test, as stated might be a fuse or bad wire.

Not knowing your specific tractor the thought just came that the timer might have a solid state relay which would not emit the same characteristics (like the click normally demonstrated by a mechanical relay)

The fuse is good. I have verified power from the battery to the lug on the relay.

Ok how about the other “side” of the relay? It should have power when ignition is switched.

Okay, took the relay timer apart and cleaned it with air and contact cleaner. Put It back together and reinstalled got the same response. Detached the wiring harness and the brown and red wires. Tested the harness connection from the ignition switch, it is good. Checked the brown lead from the battery, it is good. Connected the wiring harness and the brown lead checked post 5 and I have power for roughly 40 seconds. Connected the red wire and went to the manifold heater itself. Checked the top connection with power on and nothing. Pulled the power lead from the heater and reset power loop with ~12V showing for the circuit to the heater without heater in the loop.
So, it seems the heater itself is toasted out.
Next i will attempt to test the heater, any suggestion other than be careful if it works it will get hot. :)

Resolution, it was the manifold heater, Mahindra wants a small fortune. Found a supply in another country and ordered it in (reasonable price) and I have installed it. Everything is working as it should under $100 to solve. Yay
