Just wanted to thank everyone that helped me with my tractor purchase (thread here: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-buying-pricing/267094-l3940-order-spec-tell-me.html).
It has exceed my expectations. I simply cannot believe how much I can get done with it, particularly since I'm still a noob at operating (I've only clipped one gate and mangled a small bit of garage weather stripping pulling into the barn). I've got about 18 hours on it since late January. I've plowed lots of snow, including 12 inches of wet snow. I'd see the forecast for snow, smile, and my wife would ask why I was smiling. I'd say something like "I just can't believe how much snow we are getting this winter." I've moved thousands of pounds of fallen trees (many caused by said 12 inches of wet snow)I can't imagine how long it would have taken me to move the downed trees without it. I've pulled large trees out of the woods. With the grapple (48"
), I moved with ease 8-12 foot logs I couldn't even budge on the ground, taking them to a location to block. Pushing the brush into nice piles was minutes instead of an hour of getting wacked in the face. I've even pulled a visitor's car out of a snowbank caused by our steep, icy driveway.
I cannot wait for the weather to warm. I have a few hundred t-posts to pull before the new fence goes up, pasture to maintain, and more trees to clear out.
Again, thanks for all the help. The wealth of knowledge here and willingness to share is fantastic.
