I had a little free time the other day and was able to get some trail making done. My goal is to have open walking trails (atv trails if I had one) giving me easy access to all parts of my wooded property. I am limited in places by thick undergrowth, briers and especially in the summer time by trying to stay away from brushing against any thing that might have a tick or chigger. The elevation varies from 230 to 420 feet above sea level. Old logging trails from 100 years ago help me out for a starting place. They always approach the hills straight on with no camber. When I have a problem, it's with mud bottoms. When I first got my tractor three years ago I got stuck, had to walk out for tools and walk back three or four times. Did major damage to tractor. Rear tubes,3ph and my pocket book. I still got stuck the other day but because of ideas I got on TBN I didn't have to walk out. I chained that log to my wheels and got unstuck without damaging anything and didn't waste the whole day doing it. These attachments show the mud hole and part of the log I cut with my chain saw and a look of what the new trail looked like after one pass and a look of my version of the TBN ideas. I think that's a coyote skull in one of the pictures. We found it while making the pictures. Sorry I had already cleaned the mud off. Thanks everyone.
