Grapple Thanks for the info on Grapple rakes

I just wanted to give a quick thanks to the folks here. I'm usually a reader and every now and then ask a question. I had never heard of a grapple rake until I saw it here and after months of reading and asking some questions I finally ordered a Markham 60" grapple rake that I upgraded from the light duty to a medium by adding heavier steal. This past weekend I got to use it on firewood and boy did it do the trick. I dragged out the logs with my fransguard log winch and once the pile was big enough stated to pick them up with the grapple and cut them up. No more bending over or using choker chains to hook the logs to the bucket to move them. I cut up a pile that would have taken me about 10 hours in half the time. Thanks again, I have found this site to be an invaluable source of information...

Now if somebody could come up with and easier way to split them?

I am glad to hear you are happy with your Markham Grapple Fork. I just ordered a 48" for my Kubota L35 from Markham and it should be here Friday. I can not wait to put it to use. I have cut 150 trees on my property and need to move the wood and I think this will do the job for me...I will let you guys know.

BTW, I was very impressed with Melisa and Alan Markham, it is a family business and you will not be disappointed in dealing with them.

I also ordered their QA pallet fork, a heavy duty QA adapter plate and a tooth bar. Great prices on everything! I live in California and the shipping was only $320 for all of that.

You will enjoy it, what a time saver. I would agree they are a nice company to deal with and were efficient in getting the grapple to me. When I did not hear from the delivery company on the day of delivery I called Markham and asked if they had a status, 15 minutes later I had a call back from Markam and right after from the driver on when he would be there. Nice service.
