Just wanted to say thanks for help I recieved on here putting my basket case Ford 1700 back together.
I bought the tractor for $1500. The owner had left the head off and mice had built nests in the cylinders, badly scoring the walls and the bottom end was locked up. The block was full of nest and mice leavings. A new head and 3 implements were included in price as were 4 new ag tires all around the 4x4. I repaired the engine damage, replaced one push rod, had the injectors rebuilt, new glow plugs, unplugged the completly blocked muffler, found 40 acorns in radiator, repaired big leak in radiator where owner had let batt tray collapse into radiator, lots of new gaskets, welded better batt tray, replaced battery, flushed everything again and again, removed gunk from fuel tank,(he wasn't running a fuel filter either), new filters and lots of fluids.
It's running great, full power, no blowby, no smoke, all mechanicals great, front and rear hydraulics great. I am at about $2000, with fresh ags, wheel weights, a bush hog, a rear scraper and a snow plow, a nice diesel 4x4 tractor.
Thank you to everyone's advice on the forum.
