I recently purchased a LT1042 from Lowes (under clearance and additional 10% off)... Thanks to this forum I knew about two of the issues.. Vibration with drive pulley and transmission slippage...
I did have the vibration, so after a few hours I called for warranty support... they had ordered the parts before they picked up the tractor, so I had it back the next day.. They fixed the vibration issued and installed a new heavier spring for the drive pulley.
I had also purchased the the Lowes 4-year extended warranty as my final cost with warranty was less then the $1,599.00 usual retail. Lowes' extended warranty pays for pickup and delivery and also has a lemon policy...If the same problem is in for warranty for three times, they buy me a new mower (up to the cost I paid)....
Needless to say, I'm very happy with the Service from my local Service Department. I even had my oil and filter changed after 5 hours for only $20.00 and no charge for pickup and delivery.
With the lemon policy, I feel very secure if any issues arise in the future.
