Took some advice from from you guys, and went to the horses mouth,as it were. I gotta tell ya, from the time I ordered this unit(servis/rhino 1348 boom flail), till delivery, was in excess of 9 months. Repeated calls to the parent Co. by myself and dealer met with nothing but stalls, the units are built in the U.K., and aren't shipped over until they have a container full of those particular models. Unfortunatly was ordered/shipped sometime after 9/11, which was brought up as an excuse ad naseum. Had some trepidation about talking to these guys after all those stalls, but had great luck with service folks on direct question about the "correct oil" Apparantly the Brits use 10-30 wt. instead of tractor hyd. fluid in the main tanks of these units. Was told that grade oil would work, but if I were to change it completely, that tractor hyd. fluid would be their choice for pump and hyd. motor longetivity. Sooo guess I'll drop the drain plug, crack a whole bunch of fittings open top and bottom, and try to drain 40 gallons of oil that I don't want in my hyd. system out. Got quite an oil burning 292 Chev in a 1978 1 Ton, wonder if I could get rid of it that way. Thanx Guys,Dan'l the brushtamer
