After a long winter I was reminded this weekend of the number 1 reason I like my ZTR. Since I get done mowing sooner (plus I have others offering to mow I get more seat time on the L3010 to do the really fun work. I love box blading and bush hogging. I got in 6 hours seat time in the past couple of days. It was Great.

I've recently added Pat's easy change system and got to test changing implements and it was a breeze. Count me amoung the Pat's happy customers. Great Product.

So, who cares if it's raning now ...I got my seat time in already.

I bought a ZTR last year. I agree with you that mowing the lawn is much easier and quicker than with my previous setup of a tractor and RFM. Once you use a ZTR you really understand why they are becoming more popular with the homeowner..

There are only two things I don't really care for on my new ZTR. First, it doesn't do well if the ground is soft, gets stuck to easy and is heavy and difficult to move around by hand. I never got stuck with my old rider.
Second, it just doesn't do well in ditches. Get it just a bit crossed while trying to travers the ditch, and you don't go anywhere.
I'll have to learn all over how to mow so this doesn't happen. I had to move it around 4 times just today because of the design length or something, the tires just quit on an angle.
I love the cut, I love the speed, but I don't love having to manhandle it so much!

I mowed with a ZTR (Scag 48") for about 4 or so years on our church property in NJ. Told them I'd do it if I could buy one. They agreed. Before, they had a couple Sears tractor mowers that I'd used approximately 10 or so years before. They took about 5-7 hours to mow the approx. 5 acres with lots of oak trees. They also had an engine that could be bolted behind the seat to suck leaves from the deck and blow them into a tented cart towed behind.

With the Scag, mowing times was cut to 3 hours and change, and it would just chop up the leaves. They eventually sold the big tractor. Just kept the little tractor for pulling the cart to pick stuff up about the property.

The Scag was a whiz to take the blades off and on for sharpening. The 3 blades were through-bolted, and the deck lifted with a hand crank. In about 2 minutes' time they could be removed and another 2 minutes for after sharpening to replace them.
