...you can screw up one time and so many people see it you have to eat lots and lots of crow. Well, I screwed up just a bit. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif So crow is on my menu for awhile. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

A few weeks ago, Mrs. GreenAcres asked what a new tractor owner should look for when the new tractor arrived. I gave her a list of things to look at and also a list of filters for the TC40 and TC45 tractors. When I was at my dealer yesterday morning, there was a HST filter I could not find and went to the parts desk to check it out. The guy took one look at my list and said, "Oh, these are old numbers. Most of these have changed." So here is the list again and I've added the current numbers in blue after the old numbers. I'm sure these numbers would cross for anyone who would try to use them, but if you can use the right number, I'm sure that would be a good idea and save the lookup.

TC40/45 Boomer Filters (HST)
HST filter --SBA340500770 SBA340500890
Hyd filter --SBA340500850 SBA340500920
Fuel filter (kit) --SBA360700071 SBA360720020
Air (outer) --86549700 87300778
Air (inner) --86549701
Eng Oil --SBA86546618

Here are a couple of other tips. The fuel filter kit number I listed includes the fuel filter bowl. Can you believe it? /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif If you want to buy all the parts in one kit, you have to buy the entire new glass bowl. How many times when you change a fuel filter do you break the bowl? /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I'd post all the individual part numbers too, but you can bet they have all changed. I don't understand. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Does anyone have a clue why they would do this? I'd expect them to put all the needed parts and seals into one nice kit their dealers could easily stock and sell, and the customers would like because they wouldn't get home and find they needed another part...but not the bowl. Oh well. There's some "Dilbert" mentality in every corporation I guess. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

So I'm sorry for puttin' out some bad skinny, but I hope this still serves to help those who can use it. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Never you mind jinman, your one of the ACE's on this site. A Tractor Man's HERO.

In so far as the fuel filter glass bowl....it's typical sales marketing. This way New Holland makes more sales revenue by selling you something you don't need & charging you for it.

Jim if I would have been paying attention instead of sleeping at the switch I could have given you a hand when you first posted the numbers. I purchased filters when I visited my dealer right after I got my TC-40D and wrote the numbers down for future use. I can add to your list.

The fuel filter without the bowl is SBA130366060
oil filter SBA140517020

Cheers!

Thanks, PineRidge and Kozak. I have a theory that New Holland keeps changing filter numbers to confuse the 3rd party guys. Who knows... By next year, these numbers may all change again if that's true. If it's not true, I'd sure like to know why they changed them. The only legitimate reason I can come up with is a new supplier contract. That's one reason that would make sense. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Jim, a few years ago, I burned up a motor on a Shop Vac that was about 4 years old and instead of replacing the whole thing, figured I could just replace the motor, and that's what I did, but in the process of finding the right motor, I found that the part number had been superceded four times! So New Holland isn't the only one doing that. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Hmm...
Shop Vac...New Holland parts,
New Holland parts...Shop Vac.
Theres an analogy in there somewhere and I think it makes a sucking sound. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Jinman;
I prefer to let the partsman look up the numbers and figure out if he has them or ran out on tuesday. Like you say they don't need a reason for part number change. The only thing up to date in their computer is the latest price increase. Besides what fun would it be to get everything on one trip?
