The days are getting noticably shorter

I guess that's something folks closer to the equator don't notice as much. We've lost 1 1/2 hours of daylight. The nights are also starting to cool off in typical August fashion.

Not necessarily. We moved from mid Florida to north Georgia about two years ago years ago and I am still thrown off by the change in day length that moving 8 hrs north causes.......

That and these cool "snaps" as well as some of the forecast trends have me interested in what this winter will hold for the eastern portion of the U.S.

I look forward to summer all year, and when it gets here, it goes sooo fast. I love the long days, and all the things you can do outside. When the weather is right, haying is just so rewarding, and this has been a real good haying year. To, me, the fall feels like everything is dying, I actually like the winter better than fall, because at least you can look forward to spring. Fall is coming, and that's sooo depressing!!! Strangely, though, I do like the changing of the seasons, I just wish summer were longer!!!!!

Just remember -- you can always put on another layer on. But you can only take so many off.

Wife and I just talked about the shortening daylight already in August this evening watching the sunset. Even though we had a record high of 97degF today!
