Out here in the Central Valley of California, it started pouring around 11:00 p.m. last night and woke up this morning to see this out the dining room window. Probably fifty acres in all including five neighbor properties, this is not from an overflowing creek, just higher land seepage seeking a lower release. Last week I hauled out the two flatbed trailers in anticipation of this but left the disc and rotary mower thinking they would be o.k. on higher ground. Not so. That's my barn style shop in the background that I built in 2004-the house was built in 1913 and I might add with a very dry basement:). This seems minimal compared to what a lot of others around our country are going through so I wish the best for those of you who are in far more peril than us. Last night was a real rain dumper out here, our other property up near Mariposa got 5-1/2" over night. If this depression rolls eastward, hold on tight my friends.

I'd like to have SOME of that rain but not in the form of a "toad choker"! Just enough to fill the ponds and tanks!

Jay ... None this week up there? In two different days here I recorded 2.75 inches, ponds nice and full and even a little slippage on the rear wheels!!

I've seen lots of dollies and rigs for moving implements around, but you are the first person I've seen who tried to float them.;)

I'm sorry you're having to deal with the flood. As with many of us, if it could be spread out over several months in the dry season, it would be marvelous. It just doesn't happen that way. You are right that your place looks like it has a river through it. I hope you get a break from all of this soon without any major damage or inconvenience. Your disc and cutter don't look like the water went high enough to do any damage, so for that you are lucky.

Cory, that first picture is a postcard shot. That's easy for me to say when I'm sitting in Texas with the temperature in the 60s, of course.
