To correct the problem with the valve all you have to do is buy a couple of the depth control stops, like the ones that control the three point hitch lowering. Put these on the A and B side above and below the control lever. You can still use you're A and B side to use any kind of Ram or top hitch and it will always go back to neutral when you release the lever. If you have a Backhoe just remove the stop that controls your BH A or B side and it will lock in as before. It's simple,cheap and easy to use. With the stops in place no one can damage your pump.

Thanks for all the advice/ideas, everyone. I'm just thankful I still have an operating tractor. For now, at least.
