When my daughter gets home I will show her the two nests. Both are neat. She has put food out for hummingbirds this year and we have enjoyed watching them come up to the feeder.
My wife has 3 Hummer feeders and it seems that if we look at them any time in daylight hours they are always being used.
How do they feed theit babies- regurgitate?
We just bought our place in the Sticks last Summer. I noticed a few hummers buzzing the deck. I went and bought 3 feeders since we weren't occupying the new place full time yet figuring that would last a few days - NOT!! We sat and counted 18 birds at one time trying to get to the feeders and there were more perched on the fence. You almost need a high tech radar tracking system to count that many birds buzzing around your head
I fill the feeders every evening when I come home from work as they are empty from filling them that morning. We go through over a quart of sugar water each day. I've even started to mix it around 3:1 so I don't have to feed so often Anyone know of a feeder that screws onto a 1 or 2 litre soda bottle?
