,and my back.We just got one nasty snow ,then ice storm.I decide where it was on the weekend to leave it until all was done.Usually i fire up the plow truck, and plow once or twice during the storm.Well this time i didnt,i figured the drive would ice up,and id be better off to wait til all was done.WRONGIt was 12 inches of wet heavy snow with 4 hours of sleet and then a couple of rain on top. Then it started getting colder. When I went out to shovel in front of the garage doors,i knew i was going to have a tough time. Each shovel seemed to weigh 25 lbs.It also had a good crust on top you had to break before you could shovel it.
I fired up my old ford and boy was it working. The plow kept trying to ride up the stuff was so heavy. If you stopped ,you couldnt get the pile moving again. No sense in beating my truck to death, SO i PARKED IT .I fired up my mtd snow blower. The crust was so thick it wouldnt go.Ill admit this is the first time in years,we have had a storm like this.It was one of those i use to have to try to shovel,or break the crust up for the blower. It seemed days to clean up after these kind.
Then I fired up that sweet little three cylinder diesal, and that handsome little orange tractor.WHAT A LIFESAVER!!:) Although I didnt buy it to plow with[just to push back snowbanks] it sure took care of this jam.It did take me 3 hours to do all,but it gotter doneeffortlessly.I did need the differential lock quite a bit .The snow was so sticky i could pick up double the normal size bucket fulls with the loader.Boy life sure is easier with a tractor!!Did anyone else get this heavy mess?

I too had to use my bucket to remove the plowed snow from the town on the end of my drive then I switched to the plow for the the rest of the driceway front and back yard. I also usually plow halfway thru the storm, but it was too toasty by the wood stove!!! Had no proplems with the mix of snow and ice. we had about 12" in our area. Oh ,I also had a lot of fun for about 3 hrs. also. wifey even took pictures!!

We had like 1 - 2" of ice underneath a total of 3-4" of snow. The only way to remove it was with the bucket....but that's one of the duties I expected the tractor to perform when I purchased it. Snowplows were useless around here, only rode on top of ice.

In the end, nothing beats a bucket, period.

I kept up with the storm, plowing our driveways, and by the end it was almost too heavy to push. I left the barnyard 'til after the storm ended, and I think it would have been about impossible to plow. Without the tractor I think I would have had to leave it 'til spring, but the bucket made short work of it. It's a real comfort having the Kubota in the arsonal.

This little tractor certainly saved mine and others! We got about 10" or so of some pretty tough stuff here in western ct, my drive is long, steep, and has a 120 degree turn right in the middle of the steepest part. I waited till the storm was wrapped up early on Saturday to plow, it was no joke for sure. My first pass down the driveway did not give me confidence, I had to wiggle the front blade from side to side to keep moving and to keep the tractor straight. After that the subsequent passes were no problem although I did lose traction on a number of occasions going up hill, it ended up that I just cleaned up on the way up and took full blades on the way down. I got the call from the neighbors about mid-morning that their snow blower was useless so I found myself plowing out the neighborhood for about 6 hours, turned out to be a fun day, particularly once the sun came out. I did turn up some of the neighbor's grass which made me feel pretty bad. That tractor earned its spot in the garage this weekend.

Same thing here in PA... One neighbor has a JD garden tractor with Blower and the other a 7.5 Hydroturn plow on truck.

Both couldn't get down those last 3 inches to the pavement. A farmer came over with a bucket and helped JD scrape down to asphalt.
Other neighbor used my "bota and cleaned his where the truck couldn't scrape. (He does maintenance on it for me and has lifetime priveleges)

Love that "bota!!!!

Same here in Connecticut.

We got about 6 - 8 inches of snow and then 4 - 5 inches of sleet. It was very heavy snow.

My B3030 pushed the snow just fine with the factory Kubota six foot front blade. I plowed on Saturday morning after the storm blew through. The R4 Tires did leave a lot to be desired on snow though. The rear differential lock helped a lot in that regard but there were times I got all four tires spinning.
