Really, this shift is mysterious as the picture attached (too big) has vanished !

OK I will try to fix the problem and will post it later....and smaller.

I'm just guessing, but some John Deere have a lever like that, that I believe is for setting the 3 point hitch to go back to the same place when using a blade or whatever.

I see the 3pt lift control, the draft control (yellow knob) but I do not know what the green button or the "knob" next to the draft control is for.

I spoke with Tractor Ernie today and he said they are part of auto controls for tiller. The tiller has to be equipped to work with the auto controls.

These controls vary with model of tractor. Mine are located on the right fender. A tractor Ernie showed me had a different and more complete set of these controls on his F235.

I have had several Isekis with the exact same button. When you get all the knobs in the correct position, it will raise the three point to a set point and drop it back to another set point when pushed again. It is very handy if you can get it to work.

Thank you Dick, Mickey_Fx and Kay_supply for your answers about this "mystery shift". I can add an information about this square button which is on both rear mudguards : There is two Japanese ideograms near it (have a look on the picture) : an ideogram of one sort corresponding to the situation where the button is pushed and an ideogram corresponding to the situation when the button is pulled. I have found the same ideograms near the command 2WD-4WD of my tractor so they mean 2WD and 4 WD.

The question is : why do I have to push (or pull) on these buttons when I am in 4WD or 2WD ? It sound like if they have some action on the rear wheels....

Any idea about this ?

Does your tractor have a hyd cyl for the right 3pt arm? If so, I still maintain these controls are for the auto leveling, raise/lower setup for the 3pt and are usually use with a tiller.

Mickey_Fx,

I see exactly what you are speaking about : the UFO system patented by Yanmar (auto levelling control). But......my tractor is not fitted with this system (no hyd cylinder on the right arm and no UFO controls). What is sure is that there is a kind of control for deepness of tilling (it is not a control of horizontallity of tilling). In the back of my tiller (RS1504) there is a "metallic wing" (flap in english ??) which goes up when it encounter the ground? this "wing" is connected by a wire (cable) to a command (lever) located at the upper rear of the tractor. When this command is pulled the tiller moves up; When the wing is no more in contact with the ground the tiller moves down. It is a control indeed but not the UFO which control the horizontallity. Have you got such a device on your FX ?
