The Old Farm and Buildings

Been away a while working on the new house. I finally was able to get some pictures loaded and will start another thread on the land clearing and building project.

This thread is to help me with posting pictures and sizing them correctly. But also to show some photos of old buildings on a farm we own and lease about 30 min south of where we are building.

Is that grass really growing. I just got back from Morganton and everything around me was dead.

Tell me how what you planted and with what?

Everything around here is dry! I have only had one good rain since mid July.

These pictures were taken at the farm near Shelby, NC and were early spring.

Since that time the guy I lease it to planted about 15-20 ac of squash. I was down there the other week and it doesn't look good, way to dry.

I love those old buildings, my FIL told me what some of them were, cotton house, corn crib, etc.

I have fenced around all the old buildings and house to try and keep people out and them standing as long as possible.

We've got a few old buildings as well all useful at one time. Corn crib was the last built and still pretty strong - has a hammer mill in it. Old house is barely hanging on and I am trying to justify trying to rehab it when I could start over cheaper.

Chicken coup, Pig pen, work shed are all coming down.
