Had the chance to borrow the shops 05 1 Ton Dually Duramax with the Allison trany and our goose neck trailer and man what a great way to haul the tractor. Had to haul her about 40 miles and I was able to sit back and enjoy the ride. I was able to go fast as I wanted and the truck never really seemed to act like it was hauling anything. But I did keep it at 60 to 65 on the freeway just because I did not not want to harm the companies equipment or my tractor. The only thing about this rig is that it is really long. Had a wonderfull time getting in and out of areas.

Nice. That trailer probably weighs more than the tractor & mower.

Yes, I'm thinking you need to buy a bigger tractor to go with the trailer and truck.

Great setup only thing missing is chain restraints, one of our TBN members had an interesting ride after a strap broke.

I had a 2004 B7610 and bought a 2005 carhauler trailer to tow it around. I traded the tractor in for a 2005 MX5000 and bought a backhoe to put on it. I'm a little heavy for the trailer now. I never considered a 5th wheel until looking at the picture you attached. I have a 2005 Ford F-350, so I should be able to pull it ok. I hear those 5th wheel trailers are really manueverable. Thanks for posting.

The 5th wheel tailers are really nice. The comfort of the ride is really increased since all the hitch weight is over the rear axle of the truck and not bouncing around on the rear hitch. Also 5th wheel trailers do not sway around like the bumper pull trailers. There a lot of different style of 5th wheel trailers....I really like the dove tail and the built in ramps on this trailer. If needed the ramps can be pinned in the standing up position to let you really carry the long stuff. If I remember this trailer is a 24' with a 6' dove and we bought it for 4300.00. Also would really recomend the type of ball that recesses into the bed then you still have a clean and clear truck bed when not hauling the trailer.

I guess you do understand that you're talking about two different things when you talk about goose neck trailers and fifth-wheel trailers. Of course they do have much in common, but also some substantial differences as well.

Would you mind elaborating on the difference Bird. Thanks!

Yes.....I was using the terms incorrectly. This is a goose neck trailer. For those who do not know and my knowledge is limited so if I am wrong please correct me but a 5th wheel trailer has a hitch sytem a lot like a semi tractor and usually used for greater loads where as the goose neck trailer still uses a ball hitch just like any bumper mounted hitch but is located directly over the axle of the truck. I wont elaborate anymore since I really do not know anymore!! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
