That type of harvester has been in use for long while. They are fun to watch.

In the area where I live it is too hilly for much use. On the east side of the Cascades they have much more room to operate. They are used for much bigger trees also.

I have seen that equipment used before. What I find interesting, is the superb skills of the operator. That parcel of timber, most certainly, wasn't "His first batch of Pickles". :thumbsup:

Very easy terrain and that is a harvester head mounted on an excavator as you can see. Here is a similar harvester head powered by a dedicated machine in a far more challenging enviroment. It never gets old watching these things.
