The westendorf FEL

This loader offers a larger buck and the nice thing is the bucket is quick attach. This allows me to drop the bucket and pick up another attachment like a bail spear or forklift. The westendorf web site has info on the FEL it is designed for the 5500 mahindra 4x4 model TA-26. Another nice feature is the whole FEL is self standing.

The loader that Mahindra put on my tractor was made by Great Bend (Ben can't remember which now). I understand that Mahindra now has available quick attach. I have had it off one time, and it stands alone also when you take it off. Don't know what the savings are in a westendorf vs. Mahindra, but to me I'm not sure it would be worth it. I know Mahindra has worked with a couple of compaines directly to enginer their loader for them. In the 6000 tractor you can lift alot of weight and I just feel safer with a product made for that model. I would suggest you re-think it because the savings may not be worth the safety. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying westendorf is unsafe. I simpy saying that to me, it just is not cost effective considering all the factors. I hope this helps. For my $$, Slippy is right about the FELs engineered for Mahindras. My MDL 264 (6000) is by KMM. Take a look at the frame mounts for the GB and KMMs and you will be able to tell that these sucka's are built to last as long as the tractor. Biggest problem with them is getting to the engine compartment. I haven't had mine off yet and probably won't any time soon. I've moved a small hill over the last couple of weeks with this loader/tractor combo and can't find a weakness. Go with the Mahindra as they will take care of the warranty on the FEL whereas they won't if its another brand. BobG in VA
