Send her over here, she can commiserate with me, while my wife uses my tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I hear what you are saying!!

It's all about attention. I've tried to figure it out but always come up with a different answer. The only consistant piece is if I am working on a project she wants to see acomplished and spend all day on it I am a hero.

However, when I spend a day on a project I want to see accomplished I am a heel. At my place at least there are always several projects to choose from, so it's easier to start a new one sometimes.

One of my favorite tasks is to gather the fire wood, we have only wood heat so it's not something you can put off. Wife doesn't like the situation because it takes my time away from her.

Last year I thought I found a solution get up a 5:00 am head out to the woodlot cut a trailer load 1/2 cord and come home just about breakfast time and have the rest of the day for other things. Well it almost worked some of the time.

My situation is complicated by the fact that the wife has reached those mid-life years where there is a chemical thing going on so what worked once may not be right the second time.

Bottom line is work out a plan where she gets some of you attention and the tractor gets some of your attention. Just remember what feeds you and keeps you warm at night. It is a fine balancing act and many have fallen from not being careful. Wife and I celebrated 30 years of wedded bliss this year.

Sounds like you need to get caught doing something good. Next time she leaves the house for any length of time, get out the vacuum cleaner and plug it in. Sit back and watch a game or two but keep a close eye on the driveway. As soon as you see her pull in, jump up and get that vacuum going. (But don't forget to turn the game off.) When she asks what you are doing, just say "lending a helping hand." Works everytime for me... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Frank, you hit the nail on the head, she just wanted me to be around with her, not having fun (but still doing work) on the tractor. By the way, she fill up three garbage cans filled with, dirt, stones ect.... that needed to be moved. I said "they look pretty heavy" she just smiled and said "get the tractor"
I love a Happy Ending.
