G'day Mate and welcome to TBN from Downunder.

I am truly glad that thepumpguysc was able to help, as he has done for many other people (members or not). It's what 'we' do here, help each other out... and talk about our experiences, advise, (politely) joke, etc...

Stick around, Gur and enjoy the site. :)

Helped me too.....everyone who taught me how to work on diesels always told me the same thing. They said not to touch the diesel fuel injection pump. They said just take it to someone who will rebuild or fix it because they weren't certified to rebuild them. I never even touched one other than to remove it until thepumpguysc said he could walk me through working on one of my pumps and told me what I could touch and could not touch. He saved me a ton of money and time because I was going to have to pull it and drive it almost 2 hours one way to a shop to have it fixed. I did manhandle it a bit because I didn't read one of his responses in time but I only trashed a couple of overly soft screws that were easy to replace with something better.

He is a huge asset and so are others here. I'm good at following service manuals and fix a lot of small engine issues for a lot of people but I do not consider myself an accomplished mechanic. I'm not in the same class as a lot of people here. Some of them have been turning wrenches for as long as I have been alive or longer and they can offer some amazing advice from their experiences. I have gotten a lot of information from this forum over the years. I only wish I had joined a long time ago because bouncing ideas of other people is way more helpful than just lurking.

Glad he helped you out....

Thepumpguysc helped me out also, we sent probably 50 emails back and forth on my dumptruck injection pump, things to try, things NOT to do. I ended up sending him my pump, he fixed it in days, not weeks, tested my injectors, fixed one for practically nothing, and shipped it back to me. Told me the torque specs on all the bolts, and how to prime it fast and easy, sure enough it did exactly what he said it would, and started in less than 2 minutes. Truck has been purring smooth as can be since. Truly a great asset to any and all, friendly and very reasonable. Thank you Pump guy!
