Hi,
First, my tractor is a mid 80's MF240- 1987 to be specific. I have a new complete set of coolant system (radiator, 4 hoses, belt, thermostat (and gasket), and water pump) Don't have repair manual or part manual so repairing tractor based on common sense of the coolant system. One specific part I assumed would be thermostat turned out to be incorrect (left side of engine going to top left of water pump. It looks like the thermostat housing is between top radiator hose and top water pump hose?? I loose 4 bolts and it could move a little but no further. Could it be because there is another bolt on top but under fuel tank?? Will I have to remove fuel tank to get the Thermostat Housing to come off?
Please advise! Remember, I don't have any repair manual or part manual so doing the best I can with common sense. Once I know where and how to remove thermostat then it is all assembling from this point on.
Oh yeah, I didn't find out at the dealer :duh: What anti-freeze do I need? 100%? Any specific brand or ? I might need to make a trip to tractor dealer tomorrow if they are open?
Thanks in advance for helping!
