Tractor
Kioti CK2610HST w/ BH
I've been online shopping the last few months, wanting to get a compact tractor by the spring.
Brief back story:
My wife and I bought our first place in the country in October, 6.75ac of basically flat land, fully fenced, about 5ac of grass among oak/pine trees, not a lot of overgrown brush.
I was planning on a Kubota when i started shopping (everyone says get a Kubota or JD), hoping to find a good deal on a low hours B2601 or similar. After more research i started thinking the B series was going to be too small, so i started looking at the L2501 which lead me to the Kioti.
The extras you get compared to the L2501 are very enticing, as well as the 10-15% lower price.

I want the backhoe (who doesn't!), have a couple projects that would need a 30ish foot trench dug in mind. I know a dedicated trencher would be better but I'm thinking investing in the backhoe up front makes sense. I plan to have this tractor for 20+ years and I'm sure i fill find more uses for the BH.
The soil here does have quite a bit of clay though and I'm wondering if the backhoe is going to be more of a pain than its worth for narrow trenching.

Pricing I'm getting is about $26.5k for the tractor, KL4030 loader, KB2475L backhoe, and a 5ft brush hog, as well as filled tires. That's 2 different Kioti dealers, they are within about $500 of each other. One is about 45min away (higher price and a smaller outfit) the other is 90min away. Both have been in business for 30+ years.

Never owned a tractor before, but I've used them a handful of times over the years and am comfortable on them.
Planning on stopping by at least one of the dealers next week, just looking for suggestions on what to ask or look for, as well as confirm the pricing I'm getting sounds reasonable.
Thanks for your patience!

Just bought in November, a Kioti 2610HST with 42" Forks & filled tires for $19,800. Loving it so far. I added a 7' rear scrape blade & rear euro chains and have been clearing snow on 450' dirt driveway at a 19% grade.

The 2610 is a great tractor! The price you got from the dealers is good also. Maybe negotiate a free first service or maybe another attachment like a blade or box blade for that price. You definitely want to get the BH... once you have one you will use it for a lot more than you think. Plus, it is definitely cheaper to get it as a package initially than to try and buy one after you have the tractor for a while. I have purchased two tractors, both with BH, would not get one without now.

I owned a JD for several years, nice unit, no major issues I traded for a Kubota (less $), at the time everyone told me Kubota was an unknown and off shore junk - had the Kubota for several years it was a great tractor, I had full intention of getting another Kubota but during review looked at the Kioti, for the money, to me, Kioti offered a lot more tractor, better built, better lift capacity, heavier, and more comfortable - during negotiations the dealer tossed in the loaded tires, cutting edge for the bucket, as well as a couple of welded hooks - the Kitoti has been a great tractor - very happy I went with it.....

There are lots of happy CK owners on TBN and I am very happy with my Kioti. That is a great frame size. Your land is flat so 26HP may do, but you might want to price out the CK3510 to compare. If it is only $1k or so more on a $26K purchase, go for more HP. Good luck deciding.

X2 on considering a 3510. It's the same size with more HP.
I purchased one in June and love it. No backhoe so I can't tell you about that.
Think about what you may want to run on the PTO. That was one of my reasons for moving up.

Bought it, went with the 2610HST, with 66" loader, filled R4 tires, backhoe w/ 9" and 16" buckets, 5ft Woods brush hog. Also added Linked pedal, cruise control, right arm rest, floor mat, cutting edge for loader, dirt pads for backhoe, horn, toolbox. I think that's everything. Delivery included, should have it the end of next week!

Congratulations! I'm sure you will love it Levi. And you're correct about value. Mine was 15% below Kubota. I'm limited to just the two local dealerships, Kioti & Kubota. For me, the 2610 was far more comfortable than the L2501, but that's a personal thing.
