I am thinking about adding a suspension seat to my Z915B. I am about to be mowing a much larger field which will have some ruts due to construction equipment. Are the suspension seats worth the price? Any thoughts on particular models?

I am also thinking about decking the mower out with Tweels, front and rear. They look cool, and to make an excuse for really needing them, I am already finding nails on the ground where my house is being built.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Don't the Tweels make it ride smoother .... If it rides nice and smooth, then the faster you go it just beats the machine

Time cutting the grass is time to myself. I take my time and enjoy it!

I made my own spring seat. I'm at the age were bouncing around on the seat is not much fun anymore. I raised the seat up a few inches, put a hinge at the front of the seat and some springs at the back. Yes the front doesn't have springs but most of your weight is in your butt and that's were the springs are.

Took some experimenting to get the right value of the springs, but the local hardware store has a large selection.

Several years ago...probably more like four years, I decided to get some relief from mowing with my Z710A. My thought were to add some springs on the frame where the seat bottom contacts the tractor frame. I remembered looking at a Craftsman mower many years ago that had springs where the seat contacts the frame. So, looking on ebay I found a set of Craftsman mower springs for $5.00 plus $4.00 shipping. When I received the springs I painted them the infamous JD Green.
When I did that, I realized that my seat was higher at the rear, and I needed to raise the seat front some. So I bought two aluminum "L' brackets that made them so I could increase the front seat height about two inches., and the seat bracket pivots on these two brackets as shown below.

For some reason, I don't see the picture.

What browser are you using. I'm using Google Chrome and it works for me.

Check your setup on your browser, perhaps you have some kind of blocking set up.

Works very good, and much better than the seat pan bracket hitting the hard flat rubber plug that Deere installed at the factory. I would guess that I get about 1/2" spring play in the seat and sure helps my back from taking the pounding when mowing.
