Tractor
Cub Cadet 1882 SGT, Kubota BX2200
I presently have a 1882 with 662hrs. I have a 60" Haban deck on it and a new 451 Cub Cadet snowblower with new weights and chains. I also have a new 54" Haban power angle push blade for the front. I also have an Original cab I bought new for it with wiper and heater. Also bought a set of new ag bar tires for the rear with 12" wide rims. So this tractor is in very good condition with a bunch of extra's.....

I'm looking to trade for a 6284.....I need a tractor that I can pull a bush hog with. I have 2 1/2 acres of pasture that I need to keep cut and I would rather do it with a tractor that I can pull a bush hog with. Whats everyone else think......I love my 1882 but I think for what I need a tractor for the 6284 would be more my type of tractor.

LBrown59,

I would think my tractor should be worth around the $3500 or $4000 range. I found a new 6284 for $6500 with no attachments. So I would need to come up with the difference......and attachments for the 6284. I'll try and post a photo of my 1882.

To give an idea on price, I recently purchased a 1990, 1882 with 331 hours. It came with a 50" deck, kwik-way FEL, and 3 point hitch. Price was $4500.00

jc2947:
do you know of any place I can buy a 451 Cub Cadet snowblower that would fit it?

papaglide,

I would suggest watching ebay and your local craigslist. I bought both my blower and 54" haban power angle plow off ebay and had both shipped to me. It's about the only way I found them. If I come across one I'll let you know.

OK Guys,

I have an offer.....I have a gentlemen that just contacted me about a trade. He has a 5234D with 142hrs and FEL......Thats it. He is wanting to know if I would be interested in trading my 1882 with attachments and $3000 cash for his 5234D and FEL. I figure that I'll have right around $6500 to $7000 in his tractor and I'm just not sure if this is what I want to do....Anyone have any thoughts between this tractor and the 6284 and do you think I would be better off waiting for the 6284 or selling mine out right and buying the new 6284......I'm just kind of confused.

JC-
I buy and sell Cub compacts as a hobby, and own a 5234 and a 6284. I think the 5234 would just handle the bush hoggin, but I'd say you'd be better off with a 6284. More HP, and 600 lbs more tractor. I have a 5' bush hog on my 6284 and am amazed how it will back right up a steep hill with the mower engaged and not even spin a tire. (but it does have a loader on it) I use my 5234 for mowing/blowing/blading.
A loader is very nice to have and once you have it you'll wonder why you didn't get it sooner. Of course, you could always add on to a naked 6284.....
If I were you, I would list the 1882 on Craigslist and Ebay, and see what happens. Cash in hand is easier to ultimately buy what you want, instead of waiting for the ideal trade.
Is the deal you found in Chesterfield, MI? If so, I've seen that machine.
Good luck!

Scoutcub,

No the gentlemen that called me was from Ohio. The New 6284 is in Michigan.....It only has 2hrs on it. I've read a lot about the 5234 and I'm just a Little afraid of that one.

I do have a 65 Massey Ferguson with the Continital engine and I mounted a Kubota loader on it. Now there is a workhorse.....LOL I've had that for about 22yrs now. I bought it just redone and bought the Kubota loader and mounted it on the tractor and have used it every since. This is really where I'm running into trouble. I'm planning on selling it and it's been my field mowing and loader working tractor.

My Cubs have just been for mowing the yard and clearing snow. So now I'm trying to cut it down to one tractor which I think it's going to be either a 6284 or a Kubota.

Thanks so much,

Jack
