Cub Cadet 3186
I am new to the forum and the world of garden tractors. I've owned a used Cub Cadet 3186 with 54" deck for about a year now. It has about 330 hours. I do about two acres of mowing in my yard every week or so. I am thinking about selling it and getting a zero turn to speed up the mowing a little bit. I'm young, and still think I have better things to do (I don't.) It's in pretty good shape and runs really well. It's got a few light scratches and scrapes from the previous owner and a little surface rust on the deck.

I have two questions to ask: What do you think it might be worth? (I'm in the central NY area.) I attached a couple pictures of it. Are there any recommendations for a decent zero turn in the $3000 range? I have been looking at the Cub Cadet RZT 50, but I am a little concerned about possible transmission issues.

I really like the Troy-Bilt 54 with a 25 hp Kolher engine. I use a 7ft Woods mower for 90% of my mowing, but there a spots I can't get to with a 7ft rig.
With 2 acres to mow you might want to step up to a commercial machine.
I think I'm gonna' buy the Troy-Bilt. Lowes has the best price around here
They aren't what they used to be but I'm willing to givem' a try.

We sell the "Dixon" ZTR mowers. They have been around since 1974. Long before a lot of these new names were ever dreamed of. Hitting your price target will be no problem. Here are some details and features to review. Shipping, no problem. Ken Sweet

I never really checked out the Troy-Bilt, but I'll have to give it a look. Both the Troy-Bilt and the Cub Cadet RZT 50 get really good reviews on the Lowes and Home Depot sites, respectively. The Cub Cadet I have now handles my yard no problem. I like that the Troy-Bilt has the Kohler engine. It's been very reliable on my CC. I have not heard much about Dixon, but I am interested if you want to send some more info and prices.

I will get you more info Monday AM when I go in the office. I would like to get your zip, so I could figure your total price with freight included. Are kinda thinking 50 inch cut? Ken Sweet

I have a 54" now, so I'd prefer something close to that. I think 48-50" should be fine. My zip is 13108.

i have a CC RZT i love it, no tranny problems there is about 140hrs. CC, troy built and Whites are all the same mower. and there is probably others in there as well.
Probably the only thing i don't like is it is terrible on slopes and in wet areas. i often get stuck, yea you think i would learn where not to go.
i cut about 4 acres of grass would or should i have gone with a comm unit probably but for now i am happy.
it is rated at about 2x the speed of a regular mower.
Good Luck
Shane
