Third Function Valve--What's It For?

Hi all,

I'm looking at a B3030HSDC. Since the dealer is adding a hoe (if I buy) I want to make sure any other options I'd want in the future are done NOW, as there are no dealers close to where the tractor is going.

1. Is the "Third Function Value" an option the dealer can add on to a used tractor?

2. Is it an add-on toggle, or must a new joy stick be orderd?

3. What do most folks use them for? Blower chute rotation and/or elevation or?

Yes, the third function can be added by the dealer after purchase.

The third function kit includes a new joy stick with a integrated toggle switch.

Most people use the third function for grapple buckets or 4 n 1 buckets. They can also be used to run hydraulic drive augers.

Mine at least;is run to the 'front' on the tractor for a snowplow and grapple.
Some have it run to the rear for other applications.About a $1,000 bill.

I'm going to make sure we are on the same page here. Are you talking about a true third function for the loader? Or are you asking about the factory rear remote (which could be run to the front of the tractor) ?

I've never been aware of a third function from Kubota for the B3030 / B3000 .... though they are available from a third party, such as W.R. Long.

Kubota does offer a factory optional rear remote though..... actually, two if you so desire.
