JD 4400
Hi All,
I have a JD4400. I want to install a third SCV for a rear remote. It will be used for a hydraulic top link. I think that the whole kit is available from Deere but I am not sure. I'm also pretty sure I can do it myself if the kit has clear instructions. I have the tools and a pretty good mechanical aptitude but am still curious if anyone has ever done this installation themself? Any tips or advice? Also, are the hydraulic quick connects proprietary to Deere or are they universal. The reason I ask this is so I know whether I also have to purchase the hydraulic cylinder and hoses from Deere or can save some money by purchasing this stuff elsewhere. The reason I ask the questions here is so I don't get taken for a ride at the dealer or get into something that I may be unable to do.
Thanks in advance for your responses.

Here is a little known fact:
Your tractor already has the valve installed! All you are buying from JD is the kit to make it accessible. The kit will include the lever/handle, the steel lines that go to the rear of the tractor, the brackets and clamps and finally the QC's (Quick Couplers).

The installation should be fairly easy if you have some mechanical aptitude.

The QC's that JD uses are not proprietary, you should be able to get the couplers at any good hydraulic shop, But the last ones I purchased at JD were prices Fair.

Hey thanks for the info, now how about the power beyond kit. Is that installation similar?
Thanks again.

just plumbin'!

A line goes from the DSCV block (behin the joystick) to the rear. nother line attaches to the top of the tranny.

Mike: I have a 4300 and want to add top and tilt for a blade. I already have DSCV (fel). I may also want to use a log splitter one day. Would a single rear remote suit my needs or should I add 2?
What is the power beyond kit? Is that what I should install?
I tried JD Parts with the #'s you listed LVB25603 in a post on 3/22/06 but JD Parts does not recognize the #.
Thanks for any and all help.

Stuart,
If you want TOP and TILT, you will need to two remotes at the rear, or you can take off the loader and run hoses to the rear for your T&T, but that will become a hassle real quick.

The powerbeyond will work for the logsplitter, but so will one of your remotes...so I wouldn't worry about the PB.

JDParts will not recognize the LV*** part #s because it is what they call a "bundle" and must be ordered through the sales dept. at your dealer, not the parts counter.
