I've been lurking on & off for several years. A recent purchase of the tractor in the picture to the left has had me scouring these boards for all kinds of advice over the last month ~ 6 weeks. I learned what the previous owner didn't know (or perhaps didn't care) about changing fuel pump lubricating oil (first thing I did after having it delivered and just in the nick of time too from the appearance of, and low volume of oil that came out the drain hole). Also found I've probably been idling to low when not in use @ 1,000 RPM.
The tractor's main use will be to clean up ~ 20 years worth of deadfall on ~30 acres of rolling mostly wooded land, bringing out standing dead ash to sell as firewood, and then harvesting some timber. Eventually, hopefully within 5 years, an apple orchard will begin to take shape on the land. After the 3 weeks of use I think it's the perfect size and power tractor for my needs. I'll get some pics of the tractor working this weekend to post here.
My tractor before this was a very tired 9n. It served me well but the 4 WD on the new to me rig is priceless for the terrain and climate we'll be working on & in.
I have a ton of questions, but thought first I'd better say hello.
