So since midnight we have had 4-5 inches of new snow followed by 6-8 hours of freezing rain. Now when I go home I have to try to clear the driveway before it becomes a solid block of ice tonight

Looks like the fel is the ticket for today

I am getting zero seat time this winter. The snow is going NE and south of us. I don't like snow but I wanted some seat time since this is my first winter with this tractor. I'm not devastated though...you guys can keep your 1' of snow per day!!

Well you guys are going to hate me ;-) upstate New York this year we're finally getting the old-fashioned winter every week a storm and sometimes twice a week. In 2008 I bought a new snowblower I am finally getting a chance to break it in last year was pathetic and 2008 was just as bad maybe two storms, I posted a video of me using it today nothing exciting just an old man enjoying his toy take care

We got a good 8+ inches today. It just turned to rain....... hopefully it won't last long till the storm rolls on out.

I feel your pain. I just finished the driveway. Nothing like an open station tractor in freezing rain. At least my added work lights worked well.:confused2:

Now the next major storm is coming Thursday night into Friday. They are estimating 6 - 12 inches again. CT is finally getting a real winter season.

Well I just finished the driveway and am most happy to say the the Normand blower is great :)

I never thought it would blow 5" of slushy snow / ice, but it did. I also found out it throws it a lot farther that it does snow

It really took no time at all, in fact as we live on a cul de sac I went into the street and moved the mountain that was near my mailbox to make life easier for the mailman. Even with out lights the blinking flashers provided enough illumination to do the darkest parts of the driveway.

But I agree with you amigauser, an open tractor in 32 deg rain is just peachy - not.

Fellow CT-ites

Yeah, more snow than I've seen on the ground in a long time, couldn't even walk through the back yard without really working. Gonna need snow shoes to get to my firewood.

Was out doing the town sidewalk with a walk behind snow blower, thinking this is like trench warfare, the sidewalks get all the snow from the street plowed up on them and it's getting so deep it looks like part of the Ziegfried Line!

As far as the open station cold weather operation goes, I got an extreme artic Carhart bib to compliment my canopy. Problem solved, warm and dry.

People with low sloped roofs are gonna have to start thinking about removing some weight, I did my truckport and had a few calls with people having leaks in the house caused by ice dams, removed snow from the eaves on 2 houses yesterday.

I use a vintage lawn tractor w/ blower at my house in S. NH (w/ homemade cab/shield). Turns out clearing my driveways might've been a mistake. I missed some area due to parked cars and running out of gas in the lawn tractor before I could move them. At least those areas had snow on them this morning - everywhere I cleared was covered by a solid inch of skating-rink ice...almost killed myself walking out to my truck.

I thought for sure my plan of buying a huge snowblower would work to prevent snow this year...
