Thoughts on going from a Kubota to a CAT track skid steer back to a Kubota.

I read that. I'm curious if your neighbors SVL95 can get it.

I really think I could use TLB out here now.

What do you guys say, a man who buys his first tractor, always buys another? I forget how it goes.

I ended up buying an excavator. If you can buy an industrial 2WD Back hoe for $20 grand like a CASE, save your tractor, use the big hoe and then sell it for what you paid for it you will be way ahead. It is taking a chance.
PS I did not sell my excavator. Now I do not use it much, but still real handy.

I believe this thread is just cause for two machines. :)

I would never consider a S.S. Way too restrictive in what it can do.

A CTL is in another Universe!!!! Only negative is price. Man they are expensive!!!!

As to visibility. When I first get in a CTL after having been away from one awhile I struggle with visibility. For just a minute or so. After a couple hours I think nothing of it. You develop a knack for keeping track of your position and obstacles around you. And at the end of the day your neck doesn't hurt. :)

I believe it is totally unfair to compare a Kubota L4060 to any CTL in regards to production.

Interesting coming across this post, as it’s several years old and I’m a new member to the site. I just ordered a new Grand L6060 three days ago, but I originally bought a 2004 New Holland TC24DA because I needed to do a myriad of FEL work and still needed to mow the lawn (it served me well, but unfortunately, it recently split in half and I’m not putting another $5K in it). I’ve owned a Cat 289D CTL for six years now, it weighs about 12K lb. There’s really no comparison between a wheeled tractor and a track loader. Different machines for different purposes. Each have their Pros and Cons. No way I could mow the lawn with the CTL and no way I could pop trees out of the ground with a wheeled tractor. In the end, gotta have both so wife can run the CTL and I can run the wheeled tractor, only now I’ll also be able to enjoy A/C!
