It sounds like your problem is just like mine and just like you said the tractor has been great accept for a leaky joystick valve I think after the new year maybe I will get bored enough to try to replace my 3PT seal hoping to fix it all together, I use my tractor daily and that whine is bugging me when I pick up heavy stuff like hay bales. I would check out your MLS valve under the seat before I changed the lift seals. You can pull the seat and the metal the seat is on to get to it pretty easily. In front of the top cover you will see the valve which should take 2 nuts to get to. You will have to take off the pto solenoid to get the MLS valve out. After you get the valve out very carefully you can take it apart and look for something in there that might be restricting the flow. Do not take the screws off with a lock nut around them apart because this is your adjustment for the pressure. Clean it and put it back together and try it out, it should take about an hour or two to do this. After you install the valve there is an adjustment procedure in the shop manual to set it back up to factory. The seal in the lift piston should not be bad on a DK55 so soon unless it was install wrong the first time for the wrong reason. Also the MLS valve will cost around $400.00 to $500.00 to replace I think.

Easier to do too.
I've never had to replace the lift piston seal on anything yet.
I've had some other weird stuff on alder machines but not the lift seal.
