Three Point Plow (Chisel plow)

I have an old walk behind (horse draw) plow that I would like to somehow convert to hook up to my 3 pt. hitch. Has anyone been able to do this? I have ripper teeth on a bar and also a set of discs that I pull behind my little 4WD diesel but I like the way a plow turns the dirt over and breaks up the sod.

Has anyone tried modifying one of these old plows? If some could you all post some pictures.

Confused a bit by the "chisel plow" in the title of this thread and then talking about a horse drawn plow that will turn the dirt over. Seems you are talking about a moldboard plow.

If so, it probably can be done, if you build into the design enough adjustable parts to get it to plow right. That could be tricky if you don't understand how a moldboard plow pulls.

Forget this if indeed you have a horse drawn chisel plow. I pic would be very helpful.

It can be done. I know of a party who deals in used/old farm eqpt that reconditions a lot of gems from farm auctions. Buys old pull-type plows and has his machinist/welder buddy take them apart and fabricate a one-bottom 3-point plow from each beam/share/moldboard section. Sells to people with small tractors for garden plowing.

BUT

A horse drawn walk-behind may be worth something on the antique market. Maybe you could get enough to buy a plow. Check it out.
