My Three point quit operating tonight, Will take a look at it in the morning to see if there is anything simplelike the lever unhooked. Any suggestions on what to look for? The loader works fine. Three point is locked in the up position and would not drop down with a heavy disc on it. I got the disc off with the help of another tractor.

My 2520 has a knob to control the rate the 3PH drops, every so often I bump it the right way to essentially lock the 3PH in the up position. No matter how many times I do it I often spend way too much time trying to figure out what's wrong

any other suggestions out there. I don't think I have anything like that. I have a cab on the tracor that makes it a little more difficult to see everything underneath.

Tritonman,

If you are not familiar with the rate of drop control for the 3 pt hitch then you should find it and check it first. The cab should not be an issue and I would be doubtful that you don't have one. Look around the front of the seat base. Even if this is not your current problem it is best to know how to adjust it as it prevents your implements from falling too fast which may damage them. When you hitch up an implement an prior to using it you adjust the knob to allow the maximum speed of drop you want to allow. This way you can quickly move the pto lever to the down position without fear of damaging the implement. Most all Deere tractors have had this control for the last 40 or 50 years that I know of.

I found the rate of drop knob, and no luck with that thing. Three point is still locked in the upright position and the tractor does not strain at all when I move the lever.

You mentioned it before.... the linkage.

Good luck.

She is in at the shop right now, hopefully it is something simple.

The Rate-of-drop valve have a history of sticking on the 4x00 series machines, especially from lack of use. Dis-assembling the valve and cleaning usually fixes the problem.

Sorry I missed your first thread:eek:

There was something that stuck up under the seat that needed to be cleaned/loosened up. Nothing internal!

I think most of us who do our best to help other members here with their tractor problems would like you to be more specific about the final diagnosis from your dealer. In this way we all learn something new each day.;)

I would think anything external that was stuck (linkage) would have been noticeable in the rockshaft lever movement. Very strange.
